Beauty is an ongoing blog category with the sole intention of offering inspiring images, quotes, and poetry to hopefully bring a bit of joy and inspiration.
What does beauty mean to you?
When we hear or read this word, it conjures up different ideas and images for each person. For me, beauty is everything that brings hope, comfort and inspiration to humanity and the world. It’s interwoven with our human experience – if we pay attention.
A world without beauty would be unbearable. From experiencing the quiet rhythms of nature, or the sweetness and silliness of our pet’s antics, laughing with friends, deep listening, to daily acts of kindness; beauty is requisite for our well-being.
“Everywhere there is tenderness, care and kindness, there is beauty.”
– John O’Donohue from his book, Beauty – The Invisible Embrace
“For attractive lips, speak words of kindness.
For lovely eyes, seek out the good in people.
For a slim figure, share your food with the hungry.
For beautiful hair, let a child run his fingers through it once a day.
For poise, walk with the knowledge that you will never walk alone.
The tender loving care of human beings will never become obsolete. People, even more than things, have to be restored, renewed, revived, reclaimed, and redeemed, and redeemed, and redeemed … Never throw out anybody.
Remember, if you ever need a helping hand, you’ll find one at the end of your arm. As you grow older you will discover that you have two hands.
One for helping yourself, the other for helping others.”
– Samuel Levenson to his daughter and granddaughter, from his book,
In One Era and Out the Other
Beauty matters.
