To all my friends, family, patients, and colleagues, I want to share some information about the coronavirus pandemic to ensure our safety, and the safety of our loved ones. Because the truth is: it’s up to both of us.
Be Informed.
Despite popular belief, you don’t have to have symptoms to be contagious and shedding the virus. Most carriers of the virus are completely asymptomatic. That means you don’t need to have a cough or fever to transmit the coronavirus.
If you recently had symptoms which have resolved, the virus continues to circulate in the body for many weeks and may still be transmissible. It should also be noted that the virus can stay infectious on certain surfaces for up to nine days.
Let’s work together to protect our vulnerable populations! Those include anyone of any age with an underlying health condition, anyone with Lung and/or Cardiovascular/Heart disorders, and anyone over the age of 60.
Tell Me Everything – Full Disclosure is Critical.
Whether or not a symptom is obvious, even from a child or someone you’ve come into contact with, it’s always best to check with me first. For instance, if you have a kid at home with what seems like a simple cough or runny nose, that information matters.
Don’t Be Afraid to Ask Questions.
Please remember there are no stupid questions. There is a lot of misinformation out there and I am more than happy to help discuss this difficult topic with you.
My utmost concern is for your health, and to provide that, I have to look out for my own health as well. So I need to know as much as possible about who you’ve had contact with, recent large events you’ve attended, any recent domestic or international travel, and if there are any relating concerns to consider before treatment.
Let’s all do our part to take care of ourselves, each other, and our community. We’re all in this together.
Before your next appointment, if you have any concerns or questions at all, please call me as soon as possible at 971.216.9913.
Thank you!
Susan
