If you or someone you know has been injured in a motor vehicle accident, there is help available.
Early Intervention Is Critical
Get support immediately to minimize the extent of injuries and have the best chance for a complete and quick recovery. After a car accident, any type of body ache or pain is an indication that an area has suffered damage. Unfortunately, it is a common observation among auto injury cases that many accident victims do not seek immediate clinical attention. Very frequently, the condition gets worse.
It is a misconception that only high speed accidents cause damage. Low speed accidents also cause damage to the body that can result in lifelong problems if not addressed in a timely manner. Frequently in accidents with minimal impact, there are no initial signs of injury or pain. However, in the next day or two, pain may develop in multiple areas of the body. Consider that many injuries can take days or weeks to appear. If left untreated, it can lead to chronic incapacitating pain conditions.
The State Of Oregon Is A No‐fault State
This means that regardless of who is at fault in an auto accident, you are entitled to medical care, including acupuncture, through your personal injury protection (PIP) of your automobile insurance policy.
Oregon law mandates that you and all passengers in your car have up to $15,000 each to cover any medical bills for trauma and injuries sustained from an accident (some insurance policies have even higher amounts, but $15,000 is the minimum).
You are entitled to medical care for up to two years from the date of the accident.
You do not have any out of pocket expenses and you do not need a referral.
